Bleak Falls Barrow: Day Three: Part Two

The day is Tirdas the 19th of Last Seed when we catch up with Dar'Shavari and her exploits. She has spent the day roaming the lands in search of adventures, fame and fortune and has happened upon an intriguing structure, of which she feels compelled to explore. Stood atop a snow covered clifftop, shivering and pacing in anticipation, she has a decision to make; to enter or not to enter... After about two seconds thought, I decide to just poke my head inside and see if there are any interesting trinkets or baubles that I can plunder. Instantly in sneak mode, I inch my way forward, as I can see two Bandits in conversation ahead of me. With my tiger-like paws making no sound at all, I make my way towards them and overhear the words "Golden Claw!". Just the sound of this treasure sets my heart skipping a beat and in that instant I have made a decision; to find this trophy and claim it for my own! I get my bow ready and loose a single arrow for each of the Bandits, who go down with one hit! Getting pretty skilled with my bow now! As I loot their corpses, my eyes catching on every little sparkle or glimmer in their posession, I notice that there are quite a few dead bodies littering the floor. The guys I just killed musn't have worked well in a team, but this fact just makes me feel glad that I am alone, with no-one to share the booty with.
I loot all of the bodies in this first chamber and even find a chest with 50 Gold in it! I prepare myself by the campfire for the upcoming exploration, checking I have enough Arrows and Potions stocked up, then make my way through the tunnels to the next area. In the tunnels, I come across another Bandit and take him out with my growing archery skills. More twisting tunnels and the smell of damp accompany me through this seemingly never ending Barrow. Then I come across a strange room which has blocks with animals carved into their surfaces, and I guess that this must be some kind of puzzle room!
My sharp Cat-wits help me to solve the puzzle and I am granted access to the next area. There is some loot in the next room and a book that looks promising, I'm not really into reading but I pick it up regardless (the title says Thief). As I open the crusty pages a sound in my ear reminds me that I have risen another level! I take the book with me for luck and once more glance up into the heavens, choosing to increse my Stamina and my Sneakiness by 20%. Better sneak skills mean better hunting, and I am eager to advance. I come across a spiral staircase and make my way down into the dank, ancient tunnels that make up this Barrow.
At the bottom of the stairs, I am immediately attacked by Skeevers. What ferocious little rats they are, I think as I chew on one of their tails. I continue on my way and come across heavily cobwebbed corridors, this can only mean spiders! Tasty... I claw down the sticky mass of webs and advance into the next chamber where a huge red, pulsating spider drops down from the ceiling! I try slashing at the beast with my claws, but this spider seems quite strong so I switch to my bow to finish it off. After catching my breath, I realise that there is a voice coming from somewhere shouting "You killed it!!"
I look around frantically while pulling the spider's bristles and webbing from my clothing and spot a man hung up in the spider's web. He is rambling on about getting him down from there and further treasures in the Barrow, but I press him for information about the Golden Claw. I even demand that he tells me because he obviously knows something, but he insists upon me getting him down from there, so I slash at the webbing holding him in place and he slides free! He immediately takes off, and I follow him through the corridors, panicking that this man would escape with the Golden Claw!! I am just about to catch up with the traitor, when the corpses that are lining the walls come to life and attack my fleeing friend! Needless to say, he is taken down and I am left to fend off their stinking bodies with my claws.
I look down at Arvel on the right (that was the fellow's name I discover) and the corpses to the left and wonder what I have gotten myself into, down here in the depths of Bleak Falls Barrow. I search his body and find the object of my mission, the Golden Claw!!! I also pick up his journel, where he describes how to use the Golden Claw and other treasures that lie further on in the cave. I must continue this journey now!! The thought of even more treasures makes me greedy and I snatch up his belongings and continue on deeper into the barrow in search of gold and jewels. This part of the Barrow is very old and filled with undead corpses that seem to come back to life upon my entering the room, there must be some kind of trigger or something. Their constant attacks leave me breathless and smelling like a dead sewer rat, but I take them all down with a mixture of my clawing skills and my bow and arrows. The stench that fills my nostrils everytime I swing my arms around won't come off for days!!
What a face! I come across a chest with some gems inside, my lockpicking skills are coming on nicely! Then I find a watery stream path that I really don't want to go down because, as I have pointed out before, I hate water!! Although, the smell from the corpses I have been tangling with all night might wash off if I go down... I ponder this as I eat a Horker loaf, wow! That's a new flavour!!! I realise that the day is slowly slipping away from me, but I can't stop now when I am so close to a fortune of treasures!! I am sure that the next room I enter will have a huge hoard of jewels, and as my mind gets taken over by thoughts of fame and fortune, I realise that we have entered a new day...

The Art of Skulking, Day Three: Part One

What a beautiful day it is for a spot of exploring, thought Dar'Shavari, as she stood outside the gleaming walls of Whiterun. The day is Tirdas 19th of Last Fall, and we find our favourite feline character staring out into the wilds, ready to begin a day of exploration and excitement!
Yeah... Really don't like the thought of going out in this weather, but my fur is already wet so what the hey? I start out on the path that I chose earlier on my map and skulk around a while. I need to practise my skulking if I am to become a master thief one day, do I still want to do that?? I'm not sure but for the moment I am going with the flow and seeing where my fortunes take me. In fact, my fortunes take me in the direction of a wild Elk which I take down with style (must be the 20% more damage bonus). Then I do some more skulking and don't really spot any more game... But I do spot a humanoid figure in the distance! I crouch down into my favourite sneaking position, and slowly make my way towards the figure. I notice that the figure has a tail and I think: "Yes another Khajjit!!" and since there is no red circle to signify that he is an enemy, I stand up straight and approach him.
He introduced himself as a Liar, which I thought was a little strange, and he didn't really tell me much else about himself. I probably would't have believed him anyway, if he would have told me more. I leave the Khajjit as disapointed as when I met the first group, maybe my new friends will have to be humans then... Anyway, I head towards the mountains as this seems like a suitable place to find Ore Veins and do some mining. I reach more rocky terrain, as I hit the bottom of a cliff and start to climb up a snowy path into the heart of the rockface. As I am amking my way up, I spy a Giant standing around a campfire, and not wanting to alert him to my presence, yet again skulk around avoiding him. After I have slowly inched my way past the Giant, I run into a Wolf, who I claw to death and take his hide. As I am making my way up the snow-ridden path I come across two Iron Ore veins!! Jackpot, oh wait, I don't have a Pickaxe! Doh!! Oh well, at least I know that there are some here now, for later. I creep to the edge of the cliff and spy my Giant friend from earlier!
He can't see me from this distance, so I watch him for a while, then get bored. I start up the path again and notice that it has now started to snow. Rain and now snow?? I am freezing my butt off up here!! I decide to tuck into my warm Apple Pie that I purchased earlier, I say warm but it was really only a tad lukewarm by now. I munch that down hartily in the snow, and wonder to myself what I am doing up here?? That's when I turn around and spot a huge stone structure jutting out from the snow.
Wow! That looks interesting, but possibly dangerous. I think about exploring it, my cat-like curiosity itching for a good tomb exploration, but decide to continue on the path for a while. I come across a tower with two men standing guard outside and it's a good job I am in a sneaky mood, or they would have spotted my approach and attacked.
I must admit, I'm not a very brave Khajjit, so I slowly back away with my thoughts once again turning to the strange structure in the snow. At this point, my journey out hasn't really yeilded many results, so the thought of exploring the structure is seeming better and better. I stalk up the many stone steps which are part of the structure's architecture and three bandits immediately start to attack! I don't have time to pull out my bow and arrows so I lunge towards them, claws glinting in the frozen light. As suddenly as they attacked, they are dead. My trusty claws will always keep me out of trouble I surmise, as I root through their belongings in search of anything of value. I find a Hunting Bow on one of them and switch my Longbow out in favour of the more damaging weapon. I take stock of my surroundings and for the first time notice the beauty of this place, high atop a cliffside amongst the ruins of Bleak Falls Barrow; the name suddenly pops into my head.
As I stand there gazing at the wonderful whiteness of this place, I have a desicion to make about my next move. To satisfy my curiosity and enter the barrow (wasn't there a rhyme to do with that), or to continue on the path in search of other adventures...

Cat About Town Day Two: Part Two

Dar'Shavari has stumbled upon a mysterious City in the middle of a large grassland plain, she wonders if she should enter this new and wonderous place in search of fame and fortune, or continue with her good hunting run. As we continue this story, it is well past midday on a bright and sunny Morndas... I spot a fine travelling fellow in a carriage and ask him about this new City called Whiterun which is to be my next destination. He doesn't really divulge much about the City, but I decide to enter anyway. As I walk past the City's stables I spot a group of Khajjit with tents set up outside the city walls!! The first Khajjit I have seen in Skyrim!! I run up to my fellows and try and speak with them.
The fisrt Khajjit I speak to doesn't really seem that interested in me and I feel disheartened. Then I spot a fine young Khajjit male standing near a fire pit so I go over and say hello.
This guy doesn't seem that bothered either!! I thought I had found some new friends outside these City walls, but it seems that I will have to go elsewhere. A Khajjit female tells me that she can train in me in sneaking for a fee, but I have only 250 Gold on me and a lesson costs 300! Huh, I walk up the path to the City Gate feeling a bit down after using their tanning rack, but my excitement grows upon getting nearer to this new found City, and I am ready for a new challenge. As I stroll up to the gates, I am told to Halt! By the City Guard.
But I don't look shady!! I persuade the guard that I have sensitive information about a Dragon and he conceeds to let me enter. I have no intention of speaking about that damned Dragon! I'm sure some other survivor will notify this City, I am here to make a fortune for myself!! So, I enter through the City gates at last and see a man and a woman having a conversation. I hang around a bit, being nosy, and I ask the lady if she needs any help at the forge that she is standing next to. It turns out that she does and comissions me to make her an Iron Dagger. I craft the crude item with relish and she intructs me in other tasks such as using the grindstone, forge and workbench. This could be a fine job for me! She even mentions that she should make me her assistant! Go ahead Adrianna, it would make my day! She wanders off after the intruction and I continue to create some new weapons and armour with my new found skills, and the animal hides that I procured earlier. I try on some Hide Armour that I created and think I look pretty spiffy.
I probably wont wear the helmet though, as it is squishing my ears against my furry head! I enter the shop, Warmaiden's, and sell all of my old equipment and it seems that I have made a hefty profit, I am now at a solid 1060 Gold, not bad for a day's work! Adrianna, the shopkeeper in Warmaiden's suggests that I join up with the Companions, but I don't like the idea of that right now. I leave the shop and it is already getting dark outside, so I take a few steps over to the other side of the street and notice a sign that says "The Drunken Huntsman". Sounds like an Inn, I think as I walk up the path to the establishment. As I enter, the bartender refers to me as his Khajjit friend, and I am touched by his kind face and words. He goes on to regale me with a story about how this Public House got it's name which was quite hilarious, and I was ready to bed down for the night in this welcoming Inn, when he informed me that there were no vacancies for the night! Dang! So I cook up some of the raw meat I have in my possession and head out into the night to search for other lodgings. I stroll around for a while, no one seems to be outside at this hour, and find another Inn bearing the name "The Bannered Mare", now this seems promising! I walk inside to be greeted with a housefull of people, this must be the more popular hangout in this City. I sit down at the bar, and not a soul mentions my being a Khajjit! The atmosphere in this Inn is cosy and as welcoming as the last, and I find myself starting to like this City. I speak to the Barmaid and purchase a room, she then goes on to tell me a lot of gossip that I half listen to as I survey the rest of my surroundings. She then shows me to my my room, which is quite lovely right above the hall where music is being played! I may even eat my supper downstairs with the other revellers... I decide to do just that and plonk myself in front of the fire downstairs, chew on a chicken breast and drink my Honningbrew Mead, which goes really well with the chicken, I might add.
As I relax by the fire, random people walk past and tell me snippets about themselves, I feign interest and indulge in the live music from a Bard, who ceaselessy entertains us all for the night. After a long while, I retire to my room and tumble into bed feeling much better about my desision to come to Skyrim. I awake to the sound of soothing music drifting towards my ears from downstairs, and turn over in bed wanting to hold on to the last few notes of a sweet dream... Then I remember where I am, the Bannered Mare Inn in a brand new City, ready for me to explore! I jump up from my slumber and prepare for the day ahead. I casually stroll downstairs and take up a place at the bar. I purchase a fresh Apple Pie that is straight from the oven, a Boiled Cream Treat and a hunk of Raw Beef from the friendly barmaid, and holy crap!! I notice that I am down to 273 Gold!! That was an expensive shop! I will have to become more savvy when shopping inside Cities, otherwise I will soon be out of Gold coins, and that just won't do! I eat my Cream Treat for breakfast, but the taste is somewhat spoiled by the thought of how much that shop just cost me. I leave the Inn to be greeted with a dreary day, complete with lashing rain and thunder rolling across the skies.
The weather doesn't put me off wanting to explore this City though, and I stroll around for a while. I hear a man in rags shouting about how much he loves me! He has a crazy look in his eye and he's not directing the stream of babbling towards me, so I surmise that he is the local lunatic and take no more heed of him. I come across a couple arguing, so I stick around being nosy. The woman then storms off and the man turns to me and asks that if I find a certain sword on my travels, I will return it to him. Well ok, I think, but surely you should be running after your partner and making up? I walk into the Market Place, which by now all of the stall owners have taken up post and I spy a fresh meat counter! I will buy from this man next time, in the hope that his prices are better than in the Bannered Mare.
I enter a shop called Arcadia's Couldrin and mix up some potions from all the ingredients I have collected. I then sell these creations to Arcadia, while I am doing so, there is a loud clamour in my head and I am informed that I have risen a level. Hmmm, strange. Anyway I am back up to 780 Gold, so my potions must have been worth something! As I prepare to leave the store, Arcadia tells me that I look a little pale, me pale?? My fur is dark and spottled with brown! She must be mistaken, because no one has ever referred to me as pale! As I gaze up into the heavens (wasn't there a roof in here?) I choose to increase my health and gain a perk which increases the damage with my bow by 20%. I leave the store and spot two men arguing with an old lady, that hardly seems fair! Then more trouble makers join the men in harrassing the old lady! How rude!
I stand around and listen to their harsh mocking words for a while, it seems that the old lady's son has gone missing, and wonder why I have gotten so nosy all of a sudden? I take a deep breath and walk away from the group. I glance down at my intricately detailed map and decide on a plan to search for more prey or even mines. It seems that raw ore is very valuable in creating new armour and weapons, and with my newly learned skills, I will be able to profit from this natural resource. After planning a new route on my map, I head towards the City gates and out into the wilderness...

The Hunter: Day Two: Part One

On day Two of Dar'Shavari's tale, she awakens in her rented room in Riverwood after a daring escape from Helgen. Being chased by Dragons and shunned by the locals has given her mixed feelings about entering the realm of Skyrim. She awakes to the new day determined to embrace her new found freedom and find her place in this new land. The day is Morndas, the 18th of last seed when we continue our journey following Dar'Shavari's adventurous (or not so) exploits. I wake feeling a little disheartened after the frosty reception in the Inn last night, so decide to eat my breakfast alone in my room, a tasty rabbit haunch, mmmm. I change into some fur boots, instead of shoes as I expect to get a little dirty today, trying to earn some money. I stroll out from the room and no one seems to take heed of me, maybe they have just taken to ignoring me in the hope I will go away? I purchase a grilled chicken breast from the bartender and step outside to be greeted by a beautiful morning, sunny and full of expectations. I stroll around the town for a while, taking in the fresh new scents and feeling the sun's warm rays upon my back. I enter the blacksmith's house, the family doesn't seem to mind, and use their bubbling couldrin to cook up some of the meat that I found earlier. I go back to the local general store and sell the shopkeeper my newly crafted potions and end up making quite a bit of money off them! As I am leaving this fine store, the shopkeeper yells "Damn Thieves!", and I quickly head out the door, hey, I haven't stolen anything yet! I slowly leave the town whilst contemplating my next step in this brave new world. I need a way of making money and creating potions to sell just isn't going to cut it. As I am walking, I spot a wild deer in the distance, so I take out my bow and arrows and attempt to take him down!! After a long tussel with the deer, I end up in the water being dragged towards a waterfall! I doggy paddle for my life against the current, and just as I reach the bank and safety, a wolf comes out of nowhere and starts to attack! After bitch slapping the wolf, I stare into the water's depths and catch my breath. I hate water!! And my fur is all wet!!!
I turn the corner, still out of breath and spot a huge castle in the distance! Wow!
Now this could be a good place to make a living! I think as I make my way down the path, in awe of the huge castle or stronghold jutting from the landscape. On my way down the path some stupid mudcrabs attack, I take care of them and munch on some Chitin, I'm not sure what part of the mudcrab that is but it sure tastes good! My cat-senses tell me that what I have just eaten has restorative properties - good to know! I come across a place called Honnigbrew Meadery and spot a plump and juicy chicken outside again. I contemplate plucking the poor creature and cooking up his sweet meat for my dinner, but I decide that I'm not that hungry anyway and leave him be. I step inside the meadery and have a chat with the owner. He convinces me to buy a bottle of their 'special mead' and I also purchase a horker loaf - never tasted that before! I hang around the bar for a while chatting to the owner, but he is pretty dull, all he talks about is mead and to be honest I don't find it too interesting so I leave. Outside of the building I catch some butterflies, hey at least I'm good at hunting something!! I carry on down the path a while and a woman runs up to me wearing some pretty sweet armour!! Her name is Aela and she chatesizes me for not helping to slay a giant!!
Whaa?? I didn't even see them take it down! I hang around the farm for a while with the corpse of the giant stinking up the place and spy another tasty morsel.
Somehow, I don't think the owners would look favourably on me killing their cattle, so I tear myself away from the hulking mass of meat and continue on my way. I spot another deer in the distance and attempt to shoot it from afar. I get myself ready and hide in a bush, which I think camoflages me pretty well:
You can hardly see me!! I take aim at the deer... But something spooks it and it runs off. Damn! I try sneaking around a bit and end up playing with some butterflies. I decide to use some spider venom to poison an arrow and attempt to take down a deer again, but to no avail! I come across a bee-hive and catch a lot of them, little creatures, I seem to love watching them fly around, slowly buzzing along, no cares in the world. I chew on a couple of the bees whilst staring at the biggest mountain I have ever seen!
As I contemplate my surroundings I realise I need to take this hunting more seriously if I am to make any money off it, so I poison another arrow and stalk some deers in the distance. I slowly take aim at the antlered beast and shoot him right in the head!! He runs off, but I follow and find him dead on the floor!! Yes!! Things are finally looking up!!
I get a juicy venison steak from the deer a hide and some antlers, these will sell well, I surmise. I have a run of good luck after that and take down another deer!! Maybe this hunting idea will work out after all! If I can get crafting some items from the pelts, I might even make a profit! As I run around looking for more deer, I find myself at the entrance to the city surrounding the big castle I spotted earlier.
I stand in front of the city entrance, wondering whether to enter or not...

Mmmm Chicken, Day One: Part Two

So after, my little snack I follow my new 'friend', whose name I find out is Ralof(probably won't remember his name anyway, gonna take off the first chance I get!), right into a torture room!! Lovely blood splatters on the floor there, really livens the place up:
I proceed to pick a few locks to see if I can find any good loot and it turns out I am quite good at picking locks, I only broke one!! There isn't really anything of value in this torture room except a few stray instruments of death, I mean weapons, lying around. I come across an Iron Mace and decide to try it out, I really prefer using my claws but thought I would give it a go. I start thinking that maybe having my head lopped off wasn't such a bad idea when I spot these guys:
Anyway, we continue our journey into another room where there are more guys dressed in red who start attacking us!! Don't they give up?? There's a huge Dragon outside the walls and all they care about is aprehending some escaped prisoners?? You would think there was a civil war goin on or something. I jump down and smash some guys up with my new Iron Mace, when I am suddenly told that my endurance has run out, so I stop flailing and hide behind a pillar whilst some archers are shooting at me. When I have finally recovered some 'endurance' I run back up to help old Ralof out, but see that he has already battered them to a pulp. Well, thanks... A bit over the top but hey!! A longbow!! I decide to not bother with the Iron Mace anymore, since my fists and claws seem to do more damage (really?? they were wearing armour!!) and equip my new Longbow and some arrows I loot from their bloodied corpses. We continue our journey and come to a stream path in the rocky tunnel:
Ralof decides not to take that path, thank god, I hate water!! We stroll through the tunnel a bit further and is it just me or are there huge spider webs on all the walls?? Oh, ok giant spiders attack us and I manage to take one out with my new Longbow, Ralof takes out the other four, maybe I need more practice with this thing?
Dead spiders!! I loot their corpses for poison which may come in handy later on and stop to search for spider eggs, yummy. As Ralof an I enter a large cavern, we spot a sleeping bear ahead, so we both crouch into sneak mode. He then asks me whether I would like to take it down or try and sneak past. Well, I need to test out my new Longbow don't I? I sneakily take aim as the bear awakes and blam, only two arrows and he goes down!! Woop woop!! I run towards the bear licking my lips at the thought of some tasty bear meat, but only manage to come away with it's pelt and some claws!! We run up a small incline together, and suddenly sunlight is streaming towards us!! Freedom!!
My first view of the outside world, I actually can't focus my eyes for a while, it must have been dark in that cave!! Oh wait, here's a better view:
Ralof says that we should split up and rambles something about joining the Stormcloak rebellion, I don't really care about all that. He starts walking off and I decide to stalk him for fun, but it turns out that he is actually waiting for me to follow him, so I give up and walk along listening to his unimportant mutterings. He leads me past a cave entrance where some random bandit fellow starts smacking Ralof in the back! I jump on him and proceed to punch him in the face until he dies.
I actually feel sorry for this guy, I punched his face off! Well not too sorry, since I rob him of all his armour and then wear it, just because it looks better than those blue uniforms the 'Stormcloaks' seem to love. It's actually fur armour, which feels kind of strange wearing since I already have fur, but I think I look pretty dapper in my new threads.
Ralof and I continue to stroll down the meandering path, and I notice that the day didn't turn out all that bad, weather-wise. It's a lovely sunny day and I have my freedom back too, so that's always a good thing. On our way I kill a couple Wolves and take their stinking, mangy pelts with me, I lose sight of Ralof, but do I really care that much?? Suddenly, my deductive senses tell me that I am in Riverwood!! I spot an old crazy lady who is shouting about Dragons in the middle of the street, then think; she's actually not crazy since there are Dragons flying around! Well, I'm sure these townfolk will find out the truth soon enough... I spot a tasty looking chicken running around but thought it would be rude to just snatch it up and eat it in front of everybody. I stroll over to the local tanning rack to turn my collected pelts into leather, well not before asking the burly man in front of the rack if it was ok. I sell the burly blacksmith type all the crappy weapons I seemed to have picked up and make a little money for my troubles. My stomach is rumbling by now and the sun is going down so I decide to look for a place to rest. I accidentally walk into the local general store and overhear two people having an arguement. I hear the words 'Thief chasing' and decide to hightail it out of there, just incase one of them asks what my occupation is... I finally find an inn to settle down in, rent a room for the night, buy up all their meat stocks and a bottle of ale then sit down for a well needed meal. I consume a lovely cooked Venison Chop washed down with my bottle of ale, then decide to eat a Pheasant's breast for dessert. Mmmmmm meat. As I finish my meal, I realise that the lady I just rented a room from is standing not two feet from me, just staring:
I can see you , Bitch. I feel pretty uncomfortable in this Inn, so I stand up and immediately an old redhead, probably alcoholic fifty-ish man, pushes past me and shouts "get out of my way!". Hmmpphh! I quietly walk over to the alchemy lab and fix up some potions, maybe I can sell them later. I take one last look around the cosy-looking room and feel that the atmosphere is quite chilly, so I retire to my rented room and prepare to stand by my bed for eight hours...

It's A Dragon!! Day One: Part One

It's a horrible, dreary Sundas morning as Dar'Shavari comes to in the back of a rumbling cart, heading for who knows where. Her hands are manacled and she is faced with another three prisoners staring at her sprawling form, Damn men! Watch the intro video here if you have never seen it before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwuhVL1J1fQ. She tries to focus her eyes as some guy starts going on like he's her new best friend! Look, I don't care who these people are, I have never been to Skyrim and I am starting to regret coming here at all!! It's only her first day in Skyrim and she is being treated like some scumbag, who just strolled out of the woods... Oh wait...
Yeah, look pretty scruffy there... Anyway, it appears that we are entering some kind of town, when the weather clears up and Dar'Shavari starts to think that things might also look up for her situation too(cats are known to be pretty happy when the sun comes out). She quickly realises though, that being lined up and called out by name might not be such a good thing, considering her reputation in the north of Cyrodil. Suddenly, some fool dashes forwards shouting "You're not gonna kill me!" and proceeds to be shot down by the town's guard, famous last words. The people holding us hostage suddenly notice that I exist and ask me to step forwards, where I am suddenly given a view of my large furry face and asked to choose my hairstyle and other such accessories. Aw how thoughtful of them, to let me get all trussed up before being executed! (I gathered that this is what is happening)
The town guard fellow, then proceeds to insult me by saying "You're kind always seems to find trouble!" Wow, these Skyrim people really don't like us Khajiit! Then goes on to say how sorry he is that I am to be killed with the rest of this riff raff, if he were really sorry, he would just let me out of my chains, and I could be on my way... No such luck. As I watch some guy be beheaded right in front of me, I wonder whose stupid decision it was to come to this horrible, predjudiced realm anyway, and realise I only have myself to blame. They call me forward, "The Cat" they say, oh well, I could have died a worse death. I imagine my furry corpse rotting away in some damp cave somewhere being molested by Trolls and resign myself to placing my head on the block. As memories of my childhood flash before my eyes, (me and my eleven siblings rolling around in front of a fireplace) all of the many creatures I have killed, suddenly appear to me and seem to be mockingly calling out for... What the?? Holy crap! Theres a bloody Dragon!!! As everyone scatters from the scene, I manage to run blindly into a building, feeling the tip of my tail singe as I jump through the doorway with my somewhat clumsy, feline grace. I stop to catch my breath and some guy is barking orders at me!
Oh, wait, all he wants to do is untie my hands... Thanks guy, but weren't you trying to kill me earlier? These Humans all look the same to me. He then points to a dead guy on the floor and tells me to take what I need.
Sorry Gunjar, your lifeless body will serve as a reminder of the new, slightly corpse-smelling outfit that I have just procured for myself.
Well, at least I look better in this outfit! The 'stormcloak', as he likes to call himself runs off and I decide to follow him. It's better than hanging around here trying to hide under the table like there's a storm going on outside! As I jump down from a hole in the wall, I suddenly get a reminder that there is a Dragon on our tails as a wall of fire fills my vision.
I frantically run around the decaying town as fireballs fall from the sky and notice that some humans are actually trying to fight the dragon!! Idiots! My motto is, if it sounds like the world is ending outside, run and hide under the kitchen table! (Preferably curled up with a saucer of milk) I manage to make it into another building and come face to face with the stormcloak wearing blue from earlier. We decide to get the hell out of there using a secret passage, but not before searching this new building for stuff to take with us. Wow, being told to loot a place at a time like this?? Seems good to me!
I grab a few potions and some cheap-ass swords off some of the dead guys. These people are actually quite poor, in the cupboards all I find are some rolls of paper and pewter mugs, boring. Then I spot some dead game hanging from a drying rack and notice that I am actually famished, my stomach starts to rumble as I carefully slice off some rabbit's legs and a pheasant breast to take with me. The stormcloak keeps telling me to hurry up, but there's always time for a quick snack! I munch down on a raw rabbit leg and take a moment to think about the bad situation I was just in... Hell, even a Dragon outside the walls is better than lying on a chopping block a hair's breadth from certain death!! Now to escape! Check my next post for Part Two of Day One, hope you all enjoyed xx

Dar'Shavari

Hello there! This is my new blog, inspired by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This is the very first post, so I will fill you all in on some details about this blog. First of all, this blog follows the story of a female Khajiit called Dar'Shavari who ends up in Skyrim right where the game begins. There are going to be some rules that I will follow during this story eg: RPG rules that I will apply to myself, the game will in no way enforce them, since I am just making them up for a more interesting and involved game world. Most of the rules have to do with the kind of character I have created and some are just for fun, but I made a list: 1. I must eat and sleep 2. Not to chase the main storyline or any quests that would not be in character 3. I will not step out of character 4. No fast travelling!! 5. Not to run into random dungeons The main rule is STAY IN CHARACTER!! (Mega RPG obsessive disorder there) There should probably be more rules, but these were all I came up with so far... Anyway, since I have been going on about staying in character so much, I should probably flesh out the character a bit. So, in the not so distant past (about two years ago), Dar'Shavari once was the leader of an all male bandit camp in the North of Cyrodil, near Bruma. Needless to say she had a hard time keeping her status; every night a member of her group would enter her private tent and try to overpower her with guile, wits and muscle. This approach never seemed to work though, as she always slept with one eye open and her claws sharpened to needlepoints. Her group of bandits used to raid small towns and camps, stealing here and there, but never actually going into a city to grab the bigger pay offs, and this didn't sit well with Dar'Shavari. One of the problems with her group was Skooma Addiction. It is a stereotype held by many of Tamriel's citizens of Khajiit's behaviour, and she loathed to admit that her gang had submitted to it's vile calling. Dar'Shavari managed to resist this temptation by sheer force of will and the hunger of yet bigger and better baubles and trinkets to steal. And thus, she headed out alone one cold night, north towards Skyrim with the idea of new treasure and fortunes to be found! But alas, she hadn't kept up with the times and didn't expect such a frosty welcome when she tried to cross the border into her new city of dreams, Skyrim. This point is where we find our special friend, Dar'Shavari manacled and bustled into a waiting cart... Theres a link to a video that I took if you copy this link: http://youtu.be/37_1Trj6CDE The video quality is pretty messed up, don't know what the green and blue is about?? But you have all seen this scene before so... Anyway, Day One Next Time!! Hope you all liked my intro!!
